"Cardinal Santa" is one of my favorite Santas that I have designed and painted for Smellie Bloomers (a unique gift shop in Elizabethtown). I have written 12 stories to go with twelve unique and diverse Santas.  This particular endearing  "Cardinal Santa's" story is all about remembering special times and appreciating the little things in life.  This festive and whimsical line of Santas is called "Michelle's Santas" because I created them exclusively for the owner, Michelle.  Months ago, Michelle asked me to paint a few Santas for Christmas, so last July while everyone was rubbing suntan lotion on and soaking up the rays at the lake and the beach, I put my Christmas music on, turned down the temperature, and painted 12 lively spirit- filled Santas. You must mark Sunday, November 15th on your calendar, you are all invited to experience the Christmas Spirit at Smellie Bloomers Open House.  I can't wait to reveal "Michelle's Santas" and  share their Christmas magic with you. Here's a link so you can check out some of the unique items at Smellie Bloomers..

"Double Flurry" is painted for one of my best friend's sister.  She saw an earlier painting "Double Trouble" and commissioned me to paint a smaller version.  When I think of the word flurry, I think of excitement, whirling and fluttering around, as well as turbulence and disturbances. These two sisters grew up together and experienced lots of flurries.
The warm yellow nest intertwines together and creates a strong nest which holds and protects the two eggs.  As children, Sandy and Faye relied on each other and supported each other.  As these two sisters grew up and went their separate ways, they now nurture and support their own families, friends and loved ones. Their lives are enriched by their families and friends and are symbolized in the blueberries, leaves and twigs that embellish the nest.

"Believe" is a sweet old Santa that I started painting a couple of weeks ago.  He seems to have a wise and gentle spirit about him. He is painted on an 8 x 8 gallery wrapped canvas and would look perfect in your home sitting on a pretty display easel this holiday season.    "Believe" will be for sale at the upcoming "Leapin Lizards" art and craft festival in Lumberton.  Check out my other posts for additional work that will be featured this weekend, of course you can email me if you are interested in any of my work.
